General Description

The Health Checks application is used to ping any systems that we depend on in the integration platform where we can do a ping to test if they are expected to be operational.  Usually we would ping systems like SAP, Dataverse which are external to the integration platform and check that the service is operational.  This gives us confidence that the service should be able to process messages.

We also use this to ping some of our internal EAI team resources to check some of our key AIS components are working.  Below you can see we are using an APIM ping to check APIM is responding.

Other examples might include:

• Ping a function app to check its online

• Ping a Logic App which integrates with a system to check its online

• Ping a 3rd party API

Common Issues

Dataverse Health Ping Fails

If we get an alert that this health ping fails then it indicates that the dataverse may be having connection or service problems.  This needs to be escalated to the power platform team ASAP.  In this case dataverse issues could affect many of our integrations.
